Protect Our Children!
Our children are our greatest resource and it is our primary job to insure their safety.
Effect 07/01/2015, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania enacted legislation mandating that any/all "volunteers" that work with youth athletes must have current clearances. This includes anyone with direct access to or contact with any participating child, including the head coach, assistant coaches and anyone on the field or in the dugout (helpers and team moms.
The PA Criminal History and the PA Child Abuse clearances must be completed along with the Keep It Safe Disclosure form and are good for 60 months. These documents must be kept on file by UFAAA and the head coach should keep copies on the field at all times.
Links to obtain the necessary clearances are located under Clearance Resources to the right.
To help ensure the health and safety of young athletes, the CDC developed the HEADS UP Concussion in Youth Sports initiative to offer information about concussions to coaches, parents, and athletes involved in youth sports. The HEADS UP initiative provides important information on preventing, recognizing, and responding to a concussion. Please see the link at the left for additional information and free training.
Best of luck and let's go Union Finley teams!
